Chatteris Tennis Club Annual Mixed Doubles Challenge Tournament, The Priddey Cup, was this year played on a gloriously sunny day on Sunday.

The tournament attracted 22 club members to play, the highest entry for several years. Total attendance by players’ families and other members doubled the number who enjoyed this event.

In the tournament men players are drawn to play with either a lady or junior player and initially play in a round robin tournament. The top scoring men and ladies/juniors then compete in a final.

This year the final four featured Simon Grainger, Jeff Dawson (who is the oldest player competing in this years’ tournament), Miriam Penegar and Cameron Smart (junior – the youngest competitor).

It was a very close final, which was ultimately won by Grainger and Penegar following a thrilling tiebreaker.
