Wins for Parson Drove and Whittlesey Athletic today while March Town and Wisbech Town both draw
Wisbech Town and March Town both drew today while there were victories on the road for Parson Drove and Whittlesey Athletic.
March are still fourth in the United Counties League Premier South after being held 1-1 at home by Northampton O.N.Chenecks. Jack Saunders gave The Hares a 65th minute lead, only for the visitors to hit back five minutes later through Jacob Cox.
With six games remaining, Ash Taylor’s men are three points clear of Newport Pagnell Town, who sit in sixth, just outside the play-off places, having played a game more.
In United Counties League Premier North, Wisbech Town are now 11 points clear of the drop zone with four games remaining after a 1-1 draw at bottom side Shirebrook Town, although The Fenmen have played two games more than most of the teams below them.
Jack Lee Dolman gave the home side the lead from a 25th-minute penalty this afternoon but Kern Miller equalised for Wisbech after 57 minutes.
In Thurlow Nunn First Division North, Parson Drove are up to ninth after a tremendous 4-0 win at a Sudbury Reserves side who had won the reverse fixture 1-0 the previous week.
Drove were at it from the very first kick, with goals coming from Corey Kingston’s 12th of the season, Jack Kent’s eighth of the campaign, Steffano Cavozzi’s third in five games and Modou Gaye.
Whittlesey Athletic are up to 13th after once being deep in relegation trouble, after a 2-1 win at Swaffham Town, where they were cheered on by a large away contingent. Their goals both came from Ollie Gale after nine minutes and Skipper Harry Jenkins after 25, before they conceded before the break.
Next Saturday, March entertain 16th-place Easington Sports. Parson Drove are at home to struggling Wivenhoe Town and Whittlesey visit second-place Stanway Pegasus. Wisbech are without a game.
