Popular annual MKM sponsored Hereward Relay organised by March AC sees teams of four racing
The popular annual MKM sponsored Hereward Relay organised by March AC sees teams of four racing from Peterborough to Ely with changeovers at Whittlesey, March and Welney on a 39.8 mile course, mainly cross country.
Some 117 teams from far and wide completed the course.
Within the same race five ultra runners completed the whole course.
March AC’s Dave Burgess won first prize in the ultra race in a time of 5:30:05 and Karen Patterson was third Ultra home in her debut as an Ultra and won the first lady ultra prize.
Other club runners were amongst the prize winners.
Toni Alcaraz was 1st lady home in her leg from Whittlesey to March while Emma Tuck won 1st vet lady prize in her leg from March to Welney.
Toni and Emma were also part of the ladies’ team with Debra Wait and Geraldine Larham picking up 3rd prize for the ladies’ team.
All the team and individual results are on the website but the clubs’ teams finished as: 17th Wooly’s Wockets 4:37:53, 24th March AC Ladies 4:48:49, 49th Run Like the Hoff 5:13:19, 73rd The Starr’s 5:31:52, 77th Team Bryan and Jon 5:33:55, 91st Cole’s Comrades 5:44:35, 106th Tina’s Tornados 6:11:15, 108th Just One Orr 6:18:21, 111th The Calf Clenchers 6:25:33.
