Sean Banks joined 313 other runners at the Maverick Peaks Merlin Ultra, a 52km ultra-marathon in the Derbyshire peaks.
Starting from Bakewell Showground and taking in Bamford, Hathersage, Curbar, Froggatt and Stanage over mixed terrain ranging from boulders to mud it is a challenging route with almost 4000 feet of elevation.
Banks finished in 32nd place in a time of 5:29:26.
Sunday, June 2, saw four teams of seven Fenlanders, each with cycle support, complete the Green Wheel Relay.
This 50-mile relay circumnavigates Peterborough along the route of the Green Wheel cycle/footpath.
Split into seven stages, much of it is traffic-free and flat although stages 4 and 5 enjoy some hillier sections between Marholm and Haddon via Ferry Meadows.
The day started cool and ideal for the 44 teams running, with bright sun and clear skies but as the day progressed it became warmer and more challenging with temperatures in the afternoon climbing into the twenties.
All four teams performed excellently with two teams taking away their category trophies.
Sprung Chickens” took the Senior Ladies trophy, and TOGs took the Veteran Male award.
Fenland Tuff Boys were second overall.
