Martin is 'King' of Marshland St James lake
Martin King emerged winner at Townsend Angling Club's latest match at Buttonhole Lake in Marshland St James.
He fished worm and caster to good effect to take the match with a weight of 76 lbs 7oz.
King was pushed hard by Spot, who took second place with 71 lbs 7oz, from peg 17 on the feeder rod. Third was Smug, from peg 4, with 41lbs 13oz.
The latest angler to book his place in September's two-day final was Dan Simper, from peg 14.
This Saturday sees qualifier 18 and the final will see 20 anglers battling it out over two days for a share of a near £5,000.
Any day ticket anglers that turn up at Buttonhole Lake this Friday can recieve a ticket for a free day as long as they say they have read it in the Fenland Citizen.
