Stock car racing at King's Lynn served up exciting drives and crashes at the weekend's National Banger Pre 75 event
There was carnage aplenty at King's Lynn as drivers travelled home with their cars in pieces.
Local stars provided a series of exhilarating moments at the annual National Banger Pre 75 meeting.
The event only involved cars and engines that were in production prior to 1975 - as the name suggests.
James Licquorice, who has been one of the outstanding performers of recent months, once again put in some remarkably enthralling laps.
Driving in his veteran Rover P4, Liquorice managed to compete in all four of the day's races and had the crowd on their feet throughout.
He first caused havoc in the All Corners race when his engine gave out; rather than head for the safety area, Liquorice decided to apply his breaks and waved as the impending crash ensued.
The seasoned winner was left satisfied by the resulting state of his vehicle (pictured), which was nearly unrecognisable by the end of the day.
Will Thorpe also put in an impressive performance.
Driving in his Austin 3-litre, Thorpe managed to win an award for having one of the best cars of the day.
Kieran Bowman did similarly well and recorded two top-ten finishes on Sunday.
These included a fourth-place spot in his second heat.
Nicky Young was on hand to wow spectators with his performance in a veteran taxi.
In the 'unders' section, Dan Clarke drove a beautifully prepared Mk2 Cortina.
The vehicle drove as excellently as it looked, and Clarke was able to steer it to a third-place finish in the opening heat.
Unfortunately, he crashed out soon afterwards.
Joe Geeves was in an entertaining mood as well, and dashed around the track in a Hillman Super Minx.
The Parrin siblings continued their fine run of form in the Junior Bangers events by racing to a 1-2 finish in the White and Yellow Final.
Rhys took the chequered flag after a well controlled drive, but sister Katelyn wasn't far behind.
She managed to close the gap considerably as the race neared its close, and got to within a bumper's width of snatching victory.
Nevertheless, their performances seen the pair qualify for the final.
Unfortunately, neither were able to record a top ten finish.
Louie Cottrill raced for the last ever time as a junior banger, and impressed in typical fashion.
The British Grand Prix champion qualified for the final after a fifth-place finish in his heat, and raced to fourth spot before his car was significantly damaged in a later race.
Levi Murkin also qualified for the final, but was disappointed after being unable to place.
However, he managed to bounce back with a sixth-place finish in the All Corners event.
Manson Arnold and Jade Ellis drove well but were unable to secure a spot in the final.
Racing will continue at the Adrian Flux Arena this Sunday at 5pm.
Another big meeting is on the cards, with the Unlimited Banger East Anglian Championship taking place alongside the 1300 Stock Car event.
The likes of Liquorice, Geeves, Young and Bowman will all be back in action in the Unlimited races.
Father and son duo John and Dean Moat will also travel to this weekend's events.
