March Bears host walking rugby tournament

March Bears Rugby club hosted its first Walking Rugby tournament.

The event saw more than 50 players take part, giving family members the opportunity to play sport together and get fit at the same time without the physicality normally required in rugby.

The result saw two teams drawing for each of the first three positions in a very close-fought friendly competition in which all teams played three games.

Walking Rugby has been a part of March Bears for 18 months and has dramatically grown in popularity.

They now offer two regular weekly sessions on Mondays and Fridays, starting at 6pm.

New members are welcomed every week and , as long as they are 14-plus, can be any gender or ability.

All you need is a sense of fun and a willingness to get on with others.

The group complements the ever-growing Senior, Vets, Colts, Youth and Mini sections, for which new members are always welcome – see the Facebook page for more details.
