Wayne Rooney and Bobby Moore signed lots head March charity darts day
The G.E.R. Sports Club, March will again be hosting North Witchford Darts League secretary Mark Cross’s charity darts day in aid of the Oncology Department at Peterborough City Hospital.
All profits from the event on Saturday, March 12, will be donated to this Registered Charity (charity number: 1050601).
The Oncology department at Peterborough Hospital treats local people for cancer and carries out research. To date a total of £30,329.58 has been raised.
Doors will open at 11.30am, with draws for the competitions taking place at 1pm, and play starting shortly afterwards. The darts events will include Cricket Triples; Pairs (darts players playing with non darts players) and singles; plus annual singles and pairs cups. The day will once again include a tombola, grand auction and draw.
All of the eight dartboards have already been sponsored for £50. This year boards have been sponsored by: Darren Wojtowych Gardening Services; Jonny Pearce (JPSM); Monica Stonham; Fraser Dawbarns Solicitors; Craig Gilpatrick; Nigel Searle; GER Hot Shotz Darts Team and Mr & Mrs H (Les Hodkinson).
Some amazing auction lots include: a framed Liverpool shirt signed by Ian Rush; Signed Wayne Rooney (Manchester United & England) football boot in a display case; framed photograph signed by boxers Frank Bruno and Mike Tyson; Peter Beardsley (Newcastle, Liverpool & England) signed football boot in a display case; Boxing glove signed by Manny Pacquiao; framed England Rugby Union ball signed by former captain, Martin Johnson; framed Tottenham Hotspur shirt signed by the 1984 UEFA Cup winning squad; a Bobby Moore (West Ham United and England) signed and framed photograph; a snooker cue signed by Stephen Hendry; a signed and framed Manchester United shirt by Paul Scholes; Boxing glove signed by Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson; framed Celtic signed by the 1967 European Cup winning squad; and a Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street) signed Freddy Krueger glove in a display case.
