March Town charity T20 supports ECB Cricket World Cup and Scotty’s Little Soldiers
On Friday (June 7, 2019), March Town Cricket Club are hosting the annual charity T20 game and barbecue versus March Rugby Club.
March Crows will play March Bears, with the game starting at 6pm.
This evening supports the ECB “Cricket World Cup” family days organised by cricket clubs throughout the country as the competition begins.
The Rugby Club members will be preparing the barbecue and all profits will go to the “Scotty’s Little Soldiers” charity.
This charity was set up in memory of former Neale-Wade student Corporal Lee Scott, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2009. The charity is dedicated to supporting children who have lost a parent serving in the British Armed Forces.
Barbecue tickets are £7.50 each (available behind the Cricket Club bar). Everyone welcome to come along and support the evening.
March Sunday 2nd XI stormed to an eight-wicket victory against Wimblington in the Ernie Wool Cup, courtesy of a superb second wicket partnership of 111 runs.
Manuj Patel struck an unbeaten 89, with Ross Clarke scoring 54 in the winning 178-2 total, which came up in just 25.5 overs.
Slow bowler Steve Coe had earlier taken 6-10 off 7.1 overs.
Wimblington 176 all out, 38.1 overs (Steve Coe 6-10).
