Parson Drove victorious, draws for Wisbech and March, encouragement in defeat for Wisbech St Mary
It was an encouraging Saturday for all four of Fenland's senior football teams.
In the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midland Division, Wisbech Town are 17th and four places off the bottom after another decent result, drawing 0-0 at 14th placed Bedworth United.
In the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division there was a first point on the road for March Town, and a rare clean sheet, as they drew 0-0 at ninth placed Thetford Town,leaving the Hares in 16th, four points from the drop zone.
Parson Drove continued their good recent form in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division North with a 2-0 home win against 10th placed Peterborough North End.
Ryan Lennon's fifth goal of the season and a late effort from Gary Smith means Drove are now 11th in the table after a fourth clean sheet in five games and a third straight home win.
In the same division, Wisbech St Mary are still bottom of the table after a 10th defeat in 10,3-2 at home to promotion challengers Huntingdon Town. But the Saints showed signs of improvement in new manager Paul Hunt's first game in charge, goals coming from Matty Harris-Hercules and Adam Key.
