Double boost for March Bears
March Bears have announced an exciting new addition to their coaching team – and
secured a terrific funding boost.
Former Bears player Jason Wing has returned to the club as backs coach.
Wing (54) played Rugby League for London Crusaders from 1991-93, was a British bobsledder and is also well known in the area as principal of March’s Neale Wade Academy, a position he retires from later this month.
A club statement read: “We are delighted to welcome Jason Wing to our March Bears coaching team. He will specialise in working with our backs’ players.
“Jason’s connection with March Bears goes back many years. He then participated in sport at the highest level and understands the dedication and support that is needed to reach a player’s full potential.
“Jason will be working closely with our existing senior and junior coaching team to improve player performance, alongside providing support and guidance in accessing player pathways to representative rugby.”
Paul Ludlow and Martin Grieve have also joined the coaching team and will lead the Colts squad.
• The Bears have been awarded £234,000 by the Community and Partnership Committee at Cambridgeshire County Council to go towards their Clubhouse Project.
