March and Wisbech both make winning starts
Both Fenland senior teams in action this afternoon made winning starts to the season.
In the Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division North, Wisbech Town won 1-0 at home to AFC Mansfield (report here), manager Leon Mettam (his comments here) coming off the bench to score an 81st minute winner on his Fenmen debut.
While in the Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division South, March Town romped to a 4-0 victory at Bugbrooke St.Michaels, and top the division after one game.
Ace striker Jack Friend netted twice for the Hares after captain Danny Emmington had opened the scoring.
Sub Ryan Lennon marked his debut with the fourth.
On Tuesday, March entertain Eynesbury Rovers, who lost 4-2 at home to G.N.G Oadby Town today, while on Wednesday Wisbech travel to Spalding to play Pinchbeck United, who lost 2-0 at home to Loughborough Students.
FC Parson Drove open their Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division North season with a home game against Haverhill Borough on August 13.
