Wisbech swimmers claim runners-up berth against teams from March, City of Peterborough A and West Norfolk




Wisbech Swimming Club finished second after the 2024 Junior Fenland League season.

Competing found themselves up against March, City of Peterborough A and West Norfolk in the final.

Going into the final with a 100 per cent record Wisbech were up against some extremally strong teams and with many cut-off times having been broken throughout the season, this gave some younger swimmers their first experience of the format, as well as some swimmers competing in a higher age category.

Wisbech swimmers managed 38 personal best times out of the 44 races and 13 cut-off times were achieved with them ending the night in second place behind winner City of Peterborough with 118 points.

There were 12 first-place finishes with, Arabella Tysterman (3), Oscar Muller, Maisie Bishop, Maximillian Balsevics, Amelia Bedford, Shay Connolly, Morgan Arthur, Agata Lusczkiewicz, Rosie Clements and Jacob Hicks all winning their events.

Wisbech swimmers will be back in the pool to prepare for their Club Championships which will be held next month.

Wisbech Swimming Club are on the lookout for local businesses who would like to sponsor the Club Championships and are always on the lookout for new swimmers.
