Wisbech continue to find life tough in the East Anglian Premier League
It continues to be a baptism of fire for Wisbech in the East Anglian Premier League.
The club remain rooted to the bottom of the table following a seven-wicket defeat at the hand of league leaders Sawston and Babraham on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat on a glorious day, Wisbech were skittled out for just 78 inside 24 overs.
Wisbech had no answer to the bowling of James Vandepeer with the Sawston opening bowler picking up 8 for 39 off 11.3 overs.
Ryan Clarke (28) and Danny Haynes (20) were the only visiting batsmen to reach double-figures.
Despite losing one of their openers cheaply in reply, Sawston knocked off the required runs in the 16th over.
In Whitings League Division One, March Town suffered a nine-wicket humbling at the hands of Blunham.
Sam Robinson (41), Adam Conyard (41), Nafal Raja (25) and Scott Welcher (17) all made telling contributions with the bat as March were dismissed for 182.
Robinson was the only wicket-taker with the ball as the home side reached their target with ease.
March Town 2nds find themselves rock bottom of the CCA Senior League Division Two after a three-wicket home defeat to Cambridge St Giles.
This was in spite of a magnificent century from Nigel Wright in the home side's total of 268 for 7 off their 45 overs.
Wright shared good partnerships with James Hilliard (27), Benjamin Pye (20) and Robert Toombs (38) as March went from 172-4 for 268 for 7.
Danny Emmington picked up the early wicket of Malkiat Singh in reply, before the Cambridge batting line-up took the game away from the hosts.
Harry Lefevre (2-51) was the most successful March bowler as the visitors chased down their target with just two balls to spare.
In CCA Senior League Division One, Wisbech 2nds coasted to a nine-wicket victory at home to Fulbourn Institute.
Joe Dunning (5-20) and Chris Green (3-29) did the damage with the ball as Fulbourn were bowled out for 89.
There was no holding back in the run chase as Tomas Hoyle (31 not out) and Sam Albutt (56 not out) shared a second-wicket stand of more than 80.
Albutt's knock included 10 fours and a six as the home side knocked off the runs inside 15 overs.
Chatteris suffered a 102-run defeat at Horseheath in the same division.
In CCA Junior League Five North, March 3rds won an absolute thriller at St Ives Town and Warboys by two runs.
March posted 193 for 9 before before bowling out the hosts for 191 in the final over.
Chatteris 2nds were victors by 10 runs against Hemingford Park in CCA Junior League Three North while Wisbech Town 3rds went down to a three-wicket defeat at Telugu Association of Cambridge 3rds.
A quick three-wicket burst from Scott Walton couldn't prevent Wimblington from tasting a six-wicket loss at home to Haddnhem.
In the same division, Wisbech 4ths were forced to concede their home game to Chippenham 2nds.
