Fen racer Karl contests 1300 Stock Car British Championship
Karl Morris from Wisbech made the long trip up to Scotland’s Lochgelly Raceway last weekend to contest the 1300 Stock Car British Championship.
Karl failed to finish the British Championship, which was won by Scotland’s Paul Ford. Later on in the evening he got a tenth place finish.
A misfire saw Karl retire in the first race on Sunday but his results improved throughout the rest of the day.
He came home in seventh place in his second race and then got a fantastic third place finish in his last race of the weekend as he continued to get the car set up better and better for the unfamiliar track. In all a good weekend for the rising star who certainly got noticed by the Scottish fans.
2L Stock Car Drivers had a more local trip with the only meeting for the formula at Northampton taking place on Saturday night. Tommy Parrin had one of his best races of the year in the meeting final to come home with a fine third place – Sid Madgwick was the final winner.
Racing returns to King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena this Saturday (5.30pm) for both the 2L Stock Cars and 1300 Stock Cars; with National Banger action coming in the form of the 1500cc Bangers who will be contesting their East Anglian Championship.
Morris leads the local charge in the 1300 Stock Cars with local stars Scott Sparrow, Dave Bonnet and Jordan Bliss also racing.
Parrin will be looking to continue his good run in the 2L Stock Cars with Max Stott and Jacob Downey also set to take to the track. The 2L Stock Cars will kick off with the annual ladies charity race which will see Sherrie Martin back driving, with the former Lady Banger star set to be racing in her partner Jacob Downey’s car.
The 1500cc Bangers will see a number of local drivers in action. The Crew is made up entirely of local drivers (Dan Fisher, Lee Barnes, Lee Horwood and Aston Gibbons) whilst Dan Clarke and Brad Bartrum are set to be part of Black’s All Stars.
