King’s Lynn venue hosts bank holiday meeting

Following a week off, stock car racing returns to King’s Lynn on Bank Holiday Monday (1pm) when four formulas are in action in the shape of the two-litre bangers, 1500cc bangers, two-litre stock cars and Reliant Robins.

A good number of local drivers are booked for action.

Brad Bartram had his best meeting of the season on Easter Monday and will be looking for more of the same as he has a busy day planned racing both the 1500cc bangers and two-litre bangers.

Bartram is not the only driver on double duty on Monday as James Licquorice will also be busy racing both formulas. Licquorice is currently on top form in 2023 and is currently running in third place in the National Banger Entertainer League and breathing all over leader Jordon Sharpe from Scunthorpe.

In action in the two-litre bangers only will be World Champion Max Stott and Lee Barnes whilst Lenny Murkin, Joel Allen and Aston Gibbons will all be in action in the 1500cc bangers.

Jacob Downey has had a rough ride in the two-litre stock cars and ended up on his side last time he raced at Lynn.

Unperturbed, Downey will be back chasing the chequered flag in this most brutal of formulas on Monday. Downey has also been downgraded to the B grade from May 1 which means he will start closer to the front which is something he will be looking to take full advantage of.

Tommy and Sam Parrin will also be in action in the two-litre stock cars with Sam racing from his highest-ever grade having been promoted to the A Grade from 1 May.

Completing the action are the Reliant Robins where Olly Betts and Edward Pindar will both be in action.

Betts has been putting in some great performances in the Robins whilst Pindar will be in action in his second meeting having made a successful debut at Easter.
