30th anniversary run at Nene Park sees FRC's first female home Gemma Rose with 35:09

Sunday saw race number two get underway of the 30th Anniversary Frostbite League at Nene Park, Ferry Meadows – all less than three miles from Peterborough city centre.

Some 548 runners descended on one of the largest country parks in the region, of which 31 were Fenland RC runners, who certainly did not walk, cycle, ride a train, sail a boat or fish; but instead ran their way to victory with first male home Stuart Follen with a blistering 32:36.

The 6.5km Senior Course was partially challenging with steep declines and inclines through the woodlands and along trails and surrounding fields. Sarah was pleased to complete the 4-mile course in a time of 34:48.

Henry triumphed in the Under-9 800m Junior race starting at the back to move strongly through the field to finish in 2:47 and 4th overall – just missing out on third position. Henry has enjoyed his training for the Cluster Schools Cross Country Championship which takes place today (Tuesday, Nov. 6) when he represents his school.
