Wisbech U7s rugby team finished their fantastic season on a high, winning their third trophy of the year at the Peterborough festival.

The festival hosted 56 teams from 13 different clubs spanning five counties for U7s and U8 teams and presented a big challenge.

Wisbech Warriors won two of their pool games against Stoneygate and Oundle and narrowly missed a third win against Old Northamptonians, 8-9.

The team progressed to the semi-final winning 10-7 against Peterborough but losing their last match against a strong Market Harborough side 8-10.

Wisbech Wildcats progressed to the final as leaders of their pool group having beaten Peterborough Lions, Kesteven, Ely and a very strong Old Northamptonians side.

They went on to beat Kesteven 11-8 in the final to take the trophy, maintaining their record of being unbeaten all season.

The performance of the team was a fitting end to what has been an amazing season for the rugby juniors. The support from parents and coaches all season has contributed to the team’s success and is hugely appreciated.

Wisbech Wildcats: Rose Smith, Toby Smith, Archie Grange-Hall, Ollie Cazot, George Davison and Jemima Mitchell.

Wisbech Warriors: Thomas Wicks, Theo Tooke, Jenson Blackwell, Freddie Cazot, Danny Holt and Seb Bell.
