Wisbech karate school holds best-attended awards night at Leverington

Samurai Karate School held their best-ever attended annual awards party night at Leverington Sports and Social club, with more than 120 people attending.

There were students and families from Terrington, Wisbech, and Downham Market, as well as friends from East Coast Shotokan in Norwich. Gordon Chapman provided a very entertaining music mix and a great time was had by all the Samurai family.


Student of the year awards were presented to: Brian Newby Adult Student of the year 2015, Lexie Klibanecz Junior Student of the year 2015, Jenson Kiddle Simon Bligh Trophy for Best competition Performer 2015, Amy Holt Most improved student 2015, Alex Newby Performance Award, Gabriele Skujaite Performance Award, Adam Cowles Courage Award, Konstantins Hollopovs Performance Award, Lucy Homewood Highest Kata Score of the day 2015 Competition.

There is a very exciting 2016 planned with Sensei John Mullin 8th Dan, the Chief Executive of WTKO International, coming to teach in the school next week. Then Sensei Scott Langley 6th Dan, Chief Instructor of WTKO GB, is coming in April.

SKS have plans to open two new training venues and are currently running a very successful beginners’ programme during February and March.

Classes are at Terrington St Clement High School on Tuesdays, Wisbech Hudson Leisure Centre Thursdays and Saturdays, Downham Market Academy Wednesdays.
