5k and 1k races see many families participating in fancy dress
A sunny Saturday morning saw a cracker of an event in Wisbech Park with Three Counties Running Club holding their third annual Santa Run.
Some 70 people took part in the timed 5k race and over 60 in the 1k race. The event was open to all ages and abilities and saw lots of families participating in fancy dress.
All finishers received a medal, a Krispy Kreme doughnut and a mince pie. There were prizes for the first male and female finisher in the 5k race and for the best fancy dress.
3CRC would like to thank Active Fenland, Melvin Green, Aldi, Morrisons and all the club members and volunteers for their very kind donations and support.
In the 1k race several junior club members ran, with Maisie Macdonald finishing in 2nd place and first female, followed by Hayden Hall. Other juniors running were Casey Grange, Stephanie Harbord, Esme Drake, Rio Drake, Imogen Agger, William Durkin, Laurence Durkin, Kallum Hall, Issac Western, Molli Western and Joseph Durkin.
5k results: first home for the club was Kirsten Muller 21:33, Gary Ingrey 23:11, Amy Baxter 24:07, Tracey Else 25:35, Dawn Ball 26:42, Lorraine Parker 26:53PB, Jayne Spurrier 29:25, Elliot Green 30:46, Melvin Green 32:50, Tina Rust and Rachael Brittain 34:53. Club members also raced in Parkruns with Elisabeth Sennitt-Clough finishing as 1st female at the King’s Lynn Parkrun and also claiming her sub-21 minute 5k.
