Wisbech hockey player Laura Bell wins gold with En

Wisbech Hockey Club player Laura Bell has won gold with her national team twice this year.

After being selected to represent the England over 45s last year to play in the World Cup in South Africa, where she won silver, she was selected again this season to participate two tournaments.

She lined up in the Home Nations in Swansea, where the team won gold, and the European Championships at Beeston Hockey Club in Nottingham, where they also won gold.

In the latter, the England side won all their group games to finish top which meant a semi-final against Germany – which they won 3-0.

They then played Spain in the final and won 4-0, which means they have gone ten games unbeaten.

Laura, who plays for the Wisbech first team, is sponsored by Commercial Safety Systems Ltd and Mercian Hockey.
