March Town have followed up a strong start to the season by adding central defender James Cooper to their ranks.

The 19-year-old played for Step 4 side Kempston Rovers during the 2021/22 campaign, and will go straight into the Hares' matchday squad for tomorrow's FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round clash against Sheringham.

Manager Ashley Taylor said: "I'm really pleased that James has decided to join us as he had other options, but after watching us the other night and seeing the support we get it made it an easy decision for him.

"James played at Step 4 last season with Kempston Rovers and is an imposing left footed centre back with great height and aerial ability complimented with technical qualities.

"At the age of 19 this is another young player who we add to the squad and look forward to watching him develop in a Hares shirt."

March have started their United Counties League Premier Division South campaign with wins against Bugbrooke St Michaels and Eynesbury Rovers.
