Youngsters battle heat at latest Wisbech Junior Parkrun
A warm and sunny morning greeted the Wisbech Junior Parkrun at the weekend - with the worst of the heatwave having fortunately passed.
The course was in good condition considering, but there was one extra hazard to contend with though - the Water Board had dug up the path behind the hospital, ready to connect to the new water park.
A minor diversion was put in place and runners were good to go.
Visitors from Surrey and Newcastle (Joseph, Edward and Erin) were duly briefed, and Michael delivered his first run brief to the assembled gathering.
Isaac led the warm-up before 14 runners duly set off. Maxton led from start to finish, followed by Freddie in second, with Isaac in third.
Millie was first for the girls, with Erin in second.
An ultra marathon band will be given to Logan next week, who completed his 50th junior parkrun.
