Owners of the centre, Amanda Burke and Nate George, are excited to be able to put on an event similar to those that take place in the cities.

People taking part in the competition will have 25 routes going up on the wall and fun challenges to complete as well.

The Pizza Slice Guy will be there on the day to provide food as well as climbing-related market stalls.

The qualifiers are from noon-4pm and then there will be an hour and a half of down time before the finals take place at 5.30pm.

Amanda said: “It should be a really good afternoon.

“It is nice to be able to do something that the cities are doing quite frequently and to give people the opportunity without having to travel far.

“We love seeing everyone have a great time, not only at our events but every day. It makes every second of our hard work worthwhile.

“Fenrock is more than just a climbing centre, it’s a community hub where people can come together and support one another.”

People wishing to enter can buy tickets at the door.
