March Summer Festival is back on Friday, June 6, running until Sunday, June 8.
Held in West End Park, the free family event will see a whole host of musicians perform over the weekend, as well as young people performing new poems created with the help of renowned poets in celebration of the life and work of Benjamin Zephaniah on Sunday.
What to expect:
• Friday’s Rock in the Park - WAX, The Sixteenths and headlining, The King Blues;
• Saturday’s Pop in the Park - Students from Neale-Wade Academy, Charlotte Carpenter, I Mine, Dingo Jingo, Groove Cartel, One Wild Night and Grace Petrie;
• Sunday’s Picnic in the Park - Fenland Music Centre’s orchestra, Aimee Peart Webb, The Alan Norris Big Band
A Drum and Bass night with a set by DJ Danny Burch will also be taking place from Saturday afternoon into the evening.
This year’s event is sponsored by Love Music Hate Racism, a campaign which aims to bring people together.
Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council have both also contributed funds, however, organisers are still keen for businesses to get involved as well.
