Piano lovers in for treat in Wisbech
Piano lovers will be in for a treat when Wisbech Music Society hosts its latest recital next Friday evening.
Award-winning pianist and curator Christina McMaster will be performing at the Russell Hall at Wisbech Grammar School from 7.30pm on January 16.
Christina has performed at the Aldeburgh Festival, in the Purcell Room and the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank, London, as well as at Buckingham Palace.
Amongst the music she will play are Preludes by Debussy.
The Society said he has been called an impressionist composer and it is possible for his music to evoke the paintings of Monet or Renoir.
A spokesman said: “The piano sonata Op.31/3 does not offer any extra musical references but this happy and jovial piece does challenge our expectations. There are four movements rather than three and none is a slow movement.”
Tickets for the event cost £10 and £7 for students.
