Top academic visiting town to reveal the diet of our Neolithic ancestors
Fenland Archaeological Society is hosting a talk on Neolithic people at Wisbech General Cemetery next Wednesday, February 22.
The FenArch talk by Dr Tamsin O’Connell from the University of Cambridge will discuss the evidence of the diet of the people living at the Must Farm Site.
Dr O’Connell is a chemist focussing on biomolecular archaeology and isotopic analysis in archaeological and ecological contexts.
In other words, she is an expert in determining what our ancestors ate through scientific examination of the food remains archaeologists often find.
Tamsin heads up the Department of Archaeology at Cambridge, where she has worked since 2004, having started academic life as a chemist at Oxford University.
FenArch is excited that such a renowned academic can find time to speak to people about this work.
This event starts at 7pm and will be held at The Chapel, Wisbech General Cemetery, North End.
Admission is £4 for non-members to pay on the door.
Booking is essential so text 07775342159 or email info@fenarch.org.uk and book your place.
