Youngsters at an Outwell nursery will soon be able to have fun on new outdoor equipment. Beaupre Under 5s Centre has received a cheque for £189.05 from the village’s Costcutter branch. Chairman of the centre’s committee Michaela Culvert has thanked the shop for the donation. She said: “This means a great deal as we have just revamped our garden so the money we have received will buy new equipment. We are over the moon to be able to do this.”

The Rotary Club of March has raised £2,500 for Magpas with its big meal raffle. More than 25 hotels, restaurants and takeaways supported the fundraiser, which culminated in the draw at March Christmas Market on December 7. The 31 wining raffle tickets were drawn by Radio Cambridgeshire presenter Johnny Dee. Rotarians have thanked everyone who has supported the raffle.

Students from the College of West Anglia have been entertaining youngsters at Wisbech library. Level 3 Childcare students have been planning and delivering the 45 minute Rhyme and Story Time Sessions, which include songs and crafts, at the Ely Place library. The programme, which is running until July 2015, involves 15 students from the course, working in weekly rotation to deliver the workshops.
