Candles, sheep and lots of lovely refreshments at annual service at Walpole St Peter's Church
More than 200 people attended the annual Carols by Candlelight service at Walpole St Peter's parish church.
The afternoon service, which included four sheep symbolising the shepherds, who were the first to visit baby Jesus, added an extra touch of fun to this year's proceedings.
Everyone had a candle which helper Gilli Galloway said gave the church a magical, atmospheric glow for the service, which included traditional readings re-told in more up-to-date words.
Afterwards everyone was able to enjoy a vast array of refreshments, including mince pies and mulled wine, provided by members of the congregation.
"It was a lovely afternoon and the children thoroughly enjoyed it, especially having real sheep in the church," said Gilli.
