Marshland St James' Hickathrift House Care Home residents design and watch kart at Hunstanton's Soapbox Derby
Residents from a care home were able to enjoy watching Hunstanton’s Soapbox Derby on its 70th anniversary, and even entered their own kart too!
Hickathrift Care House Home in Marshland St James took some residents along to enjoy the day and also entered their very own caravan-shaped kart.
One resident, George, said: “I grew up by the sea and loved coming here again today. I’ve watched many Hunstanton Soap Box Derbys in my time but having our own kart has really been exceptional.
“I may be biased but I think ours made everyone laugh and smile and that’s made me really happy.”
The kart entered displayed a tree with handprints as leaves from residents and staff from the care home.
Manager Paula Colman said: “We absolutely love being able to take our residents out and about to places from museums to the cinema and events like the Soap Box Derby.”
