Cookery demo sees Wisbech mayor in the kitchen
Professional chef Alison Sloan teamed up with Wisbech mayor Aigars Balsevics and his deputy mayor Andrew Lynn for a live cookery demonstration on the town's Market Place on Saturday.
The event, which saw the trio cook up dishes designed to showcase local produce and what it can be used for, was voted a huge success with the pre-booked audience.
All the ingredients for the three dishes, autumn sausage celery and tomato stew, fried apple and plum pasties and vegetable burritos Fenland meets Mexico, were purchased from businesses and stalls on the Market Place.
Dishes with links to the town's history were also on the menu.
Now there are plans in the pipeline for a second event to celebrate Halloween - watch the town council's website for more details.
All proceeds were in aid of the mayor's charities.
