Drivers caught drink driving in Cambridgeshire have lost licences and paid fines totalling £8K




Out of 66 drivers arrested during December as part of the annual crackdown on drink drivers, so far 36 have been sentenced and lost their licences.

The highest reading recorded in December was 131 – the legal limit is 35.

Five of those charged and sentence so far were from Fenland.

Out of the 36 sentenced so far:

🚔 They have lost their licences for a combined total of almost 54 years

🚔 They have been made to pay fines of more than £8,000

🚔 One person was jailed for eight weeks

🚔 Six people have been made to carry out unpaid work for between 80 to 180 hours

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We continue to crack down on drink drivers throughout the year, so please help us by reporting concerns via our confidential hotline on 0800 032 0845.
