Experts from across the United Kingdom have converged on Wisbech Grammar School to showcase the tempting career openings in the food industry.

Guest speakers from Sheffield Hallam University and Harper Adams University, in Shropshire, were amongst a top team of food experts who dished up a diet of talks and demonstrations at the school’s first ‘Careers in food conference’.

Development chef Neil Roseweir flew in from Scotland to address the audience of pupils drawn from secondary schools in the region and their parents.

He was joined by past pupil Dr Patricia Mucavele, who works with the government to ensure that all school children have access to nutritional diets and who is set to start working with the school in the near future.

Organiser Alison Sloan said: “I wanted to show people the versatility and the range of jobs there are in the food industry.”
