Fire leaves Wisbech town centre shop totally gutted
Firefighters remained at the scene of a major fire in Wisbech town centre overnight.
A total of eight crews plus an an aerial appliance and the incident command unit attended the blaze which broke out in the Cashino premises on the Market Place at around 6.15pm yesterday evening (Friday).
At the height of the fire flames were seen shooting from the shop front and smoke was visible throughout the town.
Residents were being advised to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area while firefighters tackled the blaze.
It is understood there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
Pictures captured this morning by Citizen photographer Adam Fairbrother show the building has been left totally gutted.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said their crews were remain on site until the structural engineer has visited the building this morning.
