Wisbech charity will benefit from fun 'chop' event
A cancer patient’s event to raise funds to thank a treatment centre for her care is set to take place this weekend.
Carol Storey, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for a relapse of myeloma of the bone marrow, will be braving the shave for Wisbech’s Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre on Saturday.
This is the second year running where Carol will have shaved off her locks for the centre and the event, titled Carol’s Charity Chop Fun Day, runs from 10am to 2pm at the Secret Garden in Wisbech St Mary.
The fun day will also include a treasure hunt, cake stall, face painting and much more, including the conclusion of a 100 mile bike ride by Jane Clark, a nurse at the centre.
Jane is working to complete a ‘wish list’ of five major events this year in support of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, which runs the centre. To donate visit Just Giving and search for ‘Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre’.
