Gallery: Adults only panto hits the stage in Wisbech tonight
Stars at the Angles Theatre in Wisbech finally get to strut their stuff - in some cases quite literally - for the in-house company's second ever adult panto which opens tonight (Thursday).
Originally scheduled for New Year's Eve the event was postponed because of the rising cases of the Omicron variant and was extended to run across three nights - starting on this and seeing the final curtain drop on Saturday.
Rob Williams is director of the production "Big Dick Whittington" based, as you would expect on the family favourite, and like the original featured a Dame, King Rat and of course Dick and (in this version) his trusty Pussy.
The adults only show contains nudity, swearing and a lot of bawdy humour, which is expected to go down a storm with audiences, but those who are easily offended should probably stay away. And it is strictly over 18s only.
Rob said: "We had been looking at doing an adults' only panto for sometime and in 2020 we produced Cinders, which was performed on New Year's Eve, which followed a successful run of the family show Cinderella.
"It went down a storm and so we decided to to try to make it a regular feature of the theatre's annual programme. Obviously we will continue to run the traditional family pantomime, but we plan to also do something for the adult audience.
"It was a shame we had to postpone the production at the end of last year, but hopefully the three night run will see more people turn out to enjoy it."
There are still tickets available for all three nights so go online to the Angles website to find out more and to book yours.
