Gallery: Could you be a penpal to Wisbech care home residents?
The art of letter writing could bring a bit of fun into the lives of residents at a Fenland care home who have put out an appeal for penpals.
Residents at Hickathrift House in Marshland St James have taken to Facebook to advertise their hopes of finding someone with similar interests to correspond with.
Each individual has given their name, their interests and their favourite things and are hoping that local people will put pen to paper and become a regular penpal.
Interests range from sport to having their nails done and of course music. The pictures have the information about each of those looking for a penpal, with a question for any would-be correspondents to answer to help to get the writing ball rolling.
If you feel you can help brighten the days of residents with a letter or two then write to the person or persons that you have the most in common with and address your letter/letters with their name on to the Activities Team, Hickathrift House, 217 Smeeth Road, Marshland St James, PE14 8JB. Don't forget to include your own address so they can write back to you.
You never know it could be the start of something special for you and for them - there is after all something rather special about getting an old fashioned hand written letter in these days of modern technology.
