Gallery: Dinosaur hunt brings family fun to Wisbech museum
Youngsters enjoyed a dinosaur hunt as part of an adventure day held at the Wisbech and Fenland Museum on Saturday.
They were allowed to search through the museum's galleries in their quest for real dinosaur relics as part of the themed crafts day.
There was even a chance to take a virtual walk through a pre-historic landscape when dinosaurs walked the earth thanks to VAR Experiences.
This will be the first of a series of special family Saturday events being held throughout January and early February, when the museum will be closed to visitors on weekdays. There will be a similar event on Saturday February 1.
While it's closed to the public, the Museum's staff and volunteers won't be putting their feet up. Instead they'll be getting the amazing exhibits out of their original Victorian cases and giving them a long overdue deep clean.
Curator Robert Bell said: “People have showed us how much they care about the museum in the last couple of years and visitor numbers are well up. We have a great programme planned for 2020, but we want to do our collection proud and show everything off at its very best.
“We didn't want to shut down altogether while we're cleaning so we're offering Family Saturdays through January and February when we'll be open from 11am to 3pm. To find out details of what's on just drop in on a Saturday, or look at our website www.wisbechmuseum.org.uk.”
