Gallery: Wisbech Lions go 'Bonkers for Conkers'
There were some conkering champions created at the annual Wisbech Lions Bonkers for Conkers contest.
Held at the Oasis Centre the event started with a supper meal prepared by the Lions social committee which included may tempting desserts also made by members.
Lions teams from Whittlesey, Littleport, Huntingdon and Graffham Water descended on Wisbech for the event, which is back after the disappointment of being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
There was a fun night of contests with trophies up for grabs.
Harriet Stares was the junior winner. Julie Gray playing for the home team took the Ladies Champion title with Geoff Clarke from Littleport Lions taking the men's title.
The Non Lion Team winners were:Stares to Success while the Lions Team winners were the Littleport President's Team.
The evening was completed with a raffle, andMarilyn Batrick, Wisbech Lions vice president said: "We are most grateful to all who supplied the wonderful prizes. We would like to thank Adam Fairbrother who captured some interesting photos during the matches.
" Also special thanks to Chris Stevens and team at the Oasis Centre for their continued support of this very enjoyable evening. Profit from this event will go to a local worthy cause."
