Gallery: Wisbech St Mary Fireworks Spectacular is a whizzing success
The skies over one Fenland village were lit up with colour and sparkle accompanied by whizz, bangs and pops on Saturday night.
Wisbech St Mary Academy held its 43rd annual fireworks night in aid of school funds and saw crowds flock to watch the amazing displays. As always there were two displays one at 6.15pm and one at 7.30pm.
Crowds packed the grounds for the annual fundraising extravaganza which was complete with a bonfire, music, fun, and food as well as those all important fireworks.
In fact over the two displays more than 1,605 fireworks lit up the sky with the beautiful pyrotechnics wowing the crowds.
This year the school organised free parking at the nearby community centre and volunteers put out cones on the road earlier in the day to try to discourage the kind of bad parking, which caused issues for residents last year and prompted the head to issue an apology.
