Fenland Business Awards: Gemma Alexander wins Businessperson of the Year
As the saying goes ‘two out of three ain’t bad’ and that was certainly the case for the winner of the Businessperson of the Year award.
Gemma Alexander of Build A Brand found herself on stage for a second time on Friday when she was named the winner of this category, which was sponsored by accountancy firm Stephenson Smart.
She had already been thrilled when her firm was given the Business Innovation Award, and she was also to narrowly miss out on the coveted Business of the Year title, which was to follow.
Gemma managed to fight off strong competition from Denise Martin from Denise’s Pre-Loved Baby Boutique to take the Businessperson of the Year Award.
This award was for an individual who has made an outstanding personal contribution to drive their business forward over the past 12 months, demonstrating achievement and inspiration to others around them.
Chris Goad, partner at Stephenson Smart accountants and business advisors, which has offices in both Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, had the pleasure of handing Gemma her second award of the night.
Gemma said: “This means the world.
“I wouldn’t be here without my team - they have made me who I am today.
“I am absolutely amazed and truly grateful to win this second award.”
