Investigation launched after suspected arson attack at Fenland barn




Yesterday (Sunday) more than eight fire crews were called to a barn blaze on Mouth Lane, Guyhirn.

One crew and the multistar from Stanground, one crew from Whittlesey, one crew from Wisbech, one crew from March, the water carrier from Ramsey, a crew from Huntingdon and two crews from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service attended.

Firefighters arrived at around 6.31pm to find a large brick barn well alight, which had started to spread to apple crates. Crews set up a water shuttle and used two jets and two hose reels to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is believed to deliberate. A fire investigation will now take place.
