Make Beau 'too hot to handle' plea as West Walton family appeal for return of missing Shetland pony

A West Walton family have put out a desperate appeal for the return of their son's Shetland pony, Beau who has disappeared.

Full-time expectant mum Kimberley-Mae Means said her four-year-old son Brody Howat is devastated at the loss of the pony he had for his birthday just a week ago.

Initially the family believed Beau, who was being kept on an allotment alongside Brody's grandmother's house, had managed to break loose on Monday (3) afternoon during a heavy downpour.

But endless searches of fields and an appeal on Facebook have so far failed to find the missing pony.

Now the family fear she has been stolen and are offering a £100 reward for help in tracing. Posting on local Facebook pages Kimberley-Mae urging people to make her "too hot to handle".

She said: "We're starting to think she was taken instead of escaping herself, so please let’s make her too hot to handle and hope that she gets back home safely, offering a £100 reward for her safe return.

"We've been driving round for the last two days searching for her and she’s nowhere to be seen, so please if you have her or no where she is just bring her back, I’ve got a very upset four year old that won’t sleep because he thinks someone’s stolen his pony, and traipsing through fields whilst your nearly five months pregnant is not fun."

Beau was last seen in her field at 3.30pm on Monday by Kimberley-Mae's mother-in-law, but an hour later when she looked again Beau - whose registered name is Huckerby Bohemian Rhapsody - had disappeared.

Kimberley-Mae said: "We are absolutely devastated that someone may have taken our pony, she was such a tame and loving girl in the short time that we had her . We just cannot understand how she has just vanished and nobody has seen her.

"We have posted on Facebook pages and have had over 1,000 shares in the space of 24 hours but still no news of Beau."

And she had this message to whoever may have taken her: "If you’ve got her bring her back, I feel sick as a pig, been out looking for her all day with my little boy, it’s torture not knowing where she is or who she could be with. We just hope she hasn't fallen into the wrong hands, and she is being looked after."
