Natalie's Long Sutton business is a star attraction
The future is bright for a young business woman who is taking the beauty and aesthetics industry by storm.
Natalie Brookfield (25), who runs Novo Cosmetics in Long Sutton’s Market Place, has used her passion to build up a strong client base including celebrities.
Earlier this year, Natalie was awarded first place in The Best Aesthetics Practitioner East Midlands category awarded by The British Aesthetic Awards - and has watched her business grow rapidly over the space of a few years.
She said: “I started my training in the December of 2016 and it progressed from there. I started offering semi-permanent make up and eyebrows before moving into aesthetics which took six months of hard work and training.
“I went self-employed and I jumped in at the deep end taking on the premises in Long Sutton when nothing was guaranteed but over the space of around three or four months it really built up. I’ve gone from seeing three or four people a week to more than 30.
“My clients nominated me for the award which was judged by a panel of people who assessed my work and decided to pick me!
“I really didn’t expect it! East Midlands is a big area so a lot of people were selected and there were some massive practices I was up against.”
Natalie, who currently works on her own alongside a nurse practitioner, has high hopes for the future - which is looking very exciting indeed.
She said: “I have some much bigger plans in the pipeline and I am so excited.
“At this stage in my career, I’ve won such a big award and I am getting so many enquiries in about training that I would like to go into training and be able to offer that education to others.
“I’m also now finding that I’m fully booked up for months in advance, so I would like to train someone up to my standard in order to give my clients more availability.”
Natalie offers a wide range of treatments, from eyebrow microblading to injectables such as fillers and anti-wrinkle treatments, with celebrity clients knocking on her door.
She said: “I travelled to Newcastle to work with Chloe (Ferry) from Geordie Shore on her eyebrows and never in a million years would I have thought celebrities would want me to work on them.
“Chloe actually reached out to me which is quite rare - usually you have to offer treatments for free to influencers. It’s so nice to be recognised and it’s taken a lot of hard work to get here but I do it because I enjoy it and have a passion for it.
“The biggest thing for me is to see how happy my clients are after they have had their treatments.
“Some people come in to see me to have their eyebrows microbladed after losing their hair during chemotherapy - to give them their confidence back is so rewarding.”
The two most popular treatments on offer at Novo Cosmetics are lip enhancements and eyebrow microblading, but Natalie says people shouldn’t be worried about pain.
“My most asked question relates to pain but it’s taken me years to find the right numbing cream and now most of my clients fall asleep when they’re having their eyebrows done. None of the treatments are painful - any pain is minimal - and my job is to make my clients feel calm an reassured and to show people that they can have natural enhancements.
“I love how my work helps and changes people’s confidence for the better.”
