Plans go in for 57 homes in Manea
More than 50 new homes could be built in a Fenland village if planners give the green light.
Matthew Homes Ltd has applied to Fenland District Council to construct 57 homes on land west of Teachers Close, Manea.
The site already has planning permission for 47 homes, but the developer is hoping to increase this number.
The application’s design and access statement says: “The submitted scheme closely follows the principle established by the previously approved scheme on the site, and makes effective use of the under-utilised land in a sustainable location, without detriment to the neighbouring residential development.”
The application is asking to build 34 four-bedroom and five three bedroom houses, along with seven three bedroom and 11 two bedroom bungalows.
Public open space, including a balancing pond and water pumping station, are also being included within the application.
n The village could be set for another residential development.
Peter Humphries Associates will be holding a community consultation on Wednesday, December 2, from 4pm to 7pm in the Church Rooms, Park Road.
