Road closure planned for busy Wisbech route

Motorists will be facing a diversion along a stretch of a busy town road from the start of next month.

Cambridgeshire County Council’s highways department have published notification of the closure in Chapnall Road, Wisbech starting from July 10 and running until early in the new year.

The closure which will be between Sylvden Drive and Chapnall Close will mean traffic being diverted along this stretch to an alternative route which is via Chapnall Road, Burrett Road, Church Road and Chapnall Close and vice versa.

The order is being made to allow work to replace the gas main and associated works and will run from July 10 to January 9 ( or until the work is finished whichever is the earlier).

Residents and businesses will still be able to access their premises and there will also access for emergency services.
