A man has been caught out after leaving identification when dumping his rubbish in a public area.
During Tuesday evening’s Chatteris Town Council meeting, mayor Linda Ashley mentioned fly-tipping in the area.
She said roofing materials had been discovered at Horseway in Chatteris, and among the waste were flyers for a roofing company that is registered in Spalding; however, the owner is a Chatteris resident.
Cllr Ashley said: “A letter has been sent asking him to get in touch, but as expected, we received no reply and a section 34 notice has now been sent to him asking for proof relating to his waste disposal.”
If he does not supply the information the council has asked for, he could face a £600 fine.
