Sutton Bridge 'plagued by fires, anti-social behaviour and littering

There are plans to speak with the police and install new CCTV as Sutton Bridge continues to be plagued by problems.

Councillors are looking to invite Lincolnshire Police to meet with them to discuss a number of issues after members heard that residents were concerned by ‘fires in the Bridge Hotel, constant anti-social behaviour and littering’.

Coun Ray Perkins said: “They’re laughing at us - we’ve got to make an example of them. Are we going to wait until something bad happens or are we going to stamp on it?”

Coun Colin Robinson added: “The problem is we are not catching them in the act.”

Coun Michael Booth suggested invited the police inspector to visit the council so that members can put forward their views.

Meanwhile, Coun Robinson is investigating a new CCTV system which the police could use as part of their investigations.

Chairman Coun Simon Booth agreed that a new system should be looked at, adding: “The system we have got has proved to be inadequate.”
