Villagers show real community spirit with 45 households joining Emneth's annual scarecrow competition and yard sale

There was a real sense of community in Emneth at the weekend for the annual scarecrow competition, table top and yard sale.

In all 45 households registered to take part and there were dozens of scarecrows on show around the village.

The event was followed by a barbecue where the winner of the scarecrow competiton was announced.

One of the founders of Emneth Community Forum on Facebook, Ruth Kerrison, said: "We are very proud of the community spirit shown by villagers. The entries are amazingly imaginative and the organisers deserve some recognition for bringing the community together."
