Who will scoop the Best Social Enterprise award in the Fenland Citizen Business Awards 2025?
The best of the area’s businesses are set to be celebrated, as we launch the third annual Fenland Citizen Business Awards from Iliffe Media - publishers of The Citizen.
Nominations are open now and the awards are for all businesses across the district.
The glittering black-tie evening is booked for Friday, March 14, 2025 at March Braza Club in Elm Road - the perfect venue for these awards which are part of our commitment to supporting and celebrating local businesses.
This prestigious black-tie event brings decision-makers and business leaders together from across the area to celebrate business success and innovation.
The Fenland Citizen Business Awards showcase business achievements across ten categories, chosen to give businesses, individuals, and charities the chance to tell their success stories.
Among these is the Best Social Enterprise which is sponsored by Clarion Futures – the housing association’s charity foundation.
Last year this award was won by FACT Community Transport and the question is who will follow in his footsteps?
This award is open to charities and social enterprises who can demonstrate significant commercial and social impact of their activities. Judges will want to see clear evidence of commercial awareness and innovative strategies that complement the altruistic aims of the organisation.
The headline sponsor of the Business Awards is once again the top accountancy firm Whitings LLP, with the event being organised by the Fenland Citizen.
Categories carrying awards for 2025 are Best Social Enterprise (sponsored by Clarion Futures); Best New Start-Up (sponsored by Goldstar Metal Traders); Customer Care; Businessperson of the Year (sponsored by Mapus-Smith and Lemmon); Agriculture and Environment Champion (sponsored by Fraser Dawbarns), Retail and Hospitality (sponsored by Fenmarc), Business of the Year, Business Innovation and Employer of the Year (both sponsored by Nestle Purina) and Team of the Year.
Nominations will close at 5pm on Friday, January 3, and can be made via the Fenland Citizen Business Awards website.
Judges will then start the difficult task of choosing three finalists in each category.
These will be announced in the Fenland Citizen with the finalists being notified via email.
Once announced our judges will then arrange to interview each finalist in their place of business.
Then it will be fingers crossed until the winners are announced at the live event on March 14.
